The U13 Avalanche captured their third gold medal of the season at the Halton Hills "March to the Hills" tournament during the weekend of March 8-10.
The U13 Avalanche would battle once again for the top prize in their 3rd tournament of the season.
The Avalanche would go undefeated after a 2-0-1 record in the round robin. The Avalanche had a three goal lead in their first game against the Oakville Rangers but squandered the lead in the final 3 minutes of play, resulting in a tie. Hard lessons learned in this game, however, this would set the stage for a re-match in the Gold Medal game after a semi-final win against the host, Halton Hills Thunder.
Having blown the lead against the Rangers in match play, the Avalanche looked to make a statement in the final. Of course, this is a team with a championship pedigree having won their previous two tournaments. They know how to get the job done. And get the job done they did ! The Avalanche took the Rangers by storm and were relentless in their puck pursuit during this one. The cycle game was at its peak, and the Rangers saw very little of the Avalanche zone. In the end, the Avalanche were too much for the Rangers to handle. The Ancaster U13 Avalanche are Champions for a 3rd time this season, shutting out the Oakville Rangers 5-0 in the final.
What can't you stop.....??? An AVALANCHE !!!! Big Congratulations to yet another amazing tournament performance by these players…their 3rd Gold Medal of the season!
