  Request for Tenders for CHIPs Player & Coach Development (August 4 Deadline)

The AMHL invites tenders for a one (1) year contract to run CHIPs Player and Coach Development for the 2010/2011 season.

Interested parties should submit an electronic bid (preferably in adobe.pdf format) by the due date on Wednesday, August 4th 2010 at 4:00pm eastern to chips@ancasterminorhockey.com.

  New Ice Scheduler/Registrar


After a detailed selection process that included multiple tenders and interviews by our Ice Scheduling Committee, Jodi Rainford will be assuming the Ice Scheduling and Registrar duties effective immediately for the 2010-2011 season. Jodi brings 4 years experience in scheduling and organizing the AMHL house league portfolio, 3 years scheduling and organizing baseball, and 10 years coaching and/or managing in hockey, baseball and soccer. Her years as a league administrator and team coach/manager uniquely positions her to provide excellent organizational support to our rep coaches. Jodi will continue to provide organizational oversight to our house league program. Jodi’s interim registrar’s email is jodi.rainford@themeetinghouse.ca.

  Bantam AA's are OMHA Champs!


The Avalanche Bantam AA team beat Newmarket 3-2 in triple overtime in game 6 on Monday, March 29 to win the OMHA Championship.

  Ancaster Juveniles Win Interlock Championship


The Ancaster #5 Juveniles defeated Dundas 3-2 in the Interlock championship game on March 25 at Morgan Firestone against Dundas #1.
Down 2-0 after two periods, Ancaster roared back with 3 goals in the final period to secure the Championship.

  Minor Bantams & Midgets Win Tri-Counties, Minor Peewees Finish 2nd


The Ancaster Avalance Minor Midgets beat Guelph 4-2 in game 3 to capture the Tri-County Championship 3 games to 0.

The Ancaster Avalanche Minor Bantams captured the Tri-County Championship by defeating Burlington 3 games to 0.

The Minor Peewees finished 2nd losing to Burlington 3 games to 0.

  Morgan Firestone Arena Gets $10.2M Twin Pad

Ancaster’s Morgan Firestone Arena is getting a second ice surface in time for the 2011 hockey season.

Federal minister of transportation, infrastructure and communities John Baird made the funding announcement Friday morning along with Liberal MPP Ted McMeekin and MP David Sweet.

The federal, provincial and municipal governments will each contribute more than $3.4 million for the project, which is slated for completion by March 2011.
