Major Atom, 2015-2016, AE (Ancaster Minor Hockey)

While all parents & players will reflect differently on last night's game, it's clear that all players played hard.  The coaching staff is proud of the effort & performance on the ice and we've noticed drastic improvements in most areas since the start of the season. Even though we were outshot yesterday, we generated numerous scoring chances but just couldn't get the puck to settle for us. We feel confident in a different outcome in this weekend's games.

Thanks to all of our parents and extended families for their support last night!  It seemed to give our boys a boost, particularly in the 1st two periods.  Here's hoping that we play three complete periods next game, avoid breakaways and odd-man rushes on Matthew.  A good start nonetheless.

A big thanks to all of our fans this weekend for their encouragement, including the Febrezed away jerseys present on Sunday.  What a fabulous way to encourage our players! While the show wasn't overly spectacular on Saturday, we managed a more spirited effort on Sunday. And regardless if we continue to constantly out-shoot our opponents, it's clear that Matthew's performances have been excellent, supported by all positional players.

A very big thank you to Mark & Lisa Wolfe for coordinating our involvement in the Ancaster Food Drive for the past two Saturday's (and opening their home!).   While we had challenging weather for the 1st Saturday (thanks to Kellie for the "hot paws"),  we were very fortunate with the weather for the pick-up day.  This is a worthy cause and all the food collected goes to local families in need.   We had overwhelming support from almost 90% of our players & families for these events.  Thanks to Mark, Lisa W, Luciano, Dan, Graham, Carol, Rob, Ben, Kellie, Joe, Jenn, Lisa B, Kathy & Bob for all ...

A big thank you to Roberto Giovannangeli for running an off-ice training session this past Saturday.  It was well received by players and families alike, and it gave the boys an opportunity to run around for 90 minutes while enjoying each other's company.  And while "soccer" was the pretense, it's clear that Roberto's mission for the day was fun.   Mission accomplished (see George Bush picture below...!).
